Some of the bravest members of Return on Digital underwent the Firewalk challenge at the weekend.

Mike, Luke and Phil walked across 20 feet of burning coals to raise money for Children Today, a charity that raises funds to provide specialised equipment and services for children and young people with disabilities throughout the UK.

Over 20 people joined the challenge that was hosted at the Beaumont Arms, Bolton to raise vital funds for this great charity. After a two hour fear-busting seminar by the BLAZE fire walking experts the guys confidently walked across the scorching 1236°F walkway barefoot to the delight of spectators and supporters that had gathered to watch the event.

Afterward, PPC executive Phil Walsh claimed: “I am strong. I am powerful. I am magnificent!” He also added, “Despite having dirty feet afterwards there were no burns!”

As Bolton natives the guys were keen to support the events in the local area. Business Analyst Mike Timpany commented: “It’s a fantastic cause and we were really pleased to have the opportunity to be involved.”

Regional fundraising manager, Liz Oakes commented: “The guys were a great asset to the group and seemed to have fun. They also have done brilliantly with their fundraising for which I thank them and all their supporters.”

The team has managed to raise over £500 for Children Today and their Just Giving pages are still open if anyone would like to contribute:

The funds raised will go towards specialist equipment to enhance disabled children’s lives. There is no statutory right for young people with disabilities to be provided with equipment they need by the government or NHS, so Children Today fill that gap providing this service for children and young people right up to the age of 25.
