Last week, Google celebrated the 30th anniversary of Pac-Man by changing their logo for a day into a playable version of the game which proved to be extremely popular. 'We've been overwhelmed — but not surprised — by the success of our 30th anniversary PAC-MAN doodle,' said Marissa Mayer, the Vice President of Google Search Products and User Experience. In a story published in the Metro newspaper this week, it was claimed the Google homepage gobbled up almost 5 million hours of work time at a potential cost to employers of £83 million. The classic Pac-Man video game was said to have increased time users spent on the Google homepage by an average of 36 seconds each, claimed researchers.
