Inaugural Creative League Comes To A Close

The first (of hopefully many) Creative League came to a close this week and here at Return On Digital we're pretty pleased with our final placing of 3rd:

Looking back over the season it was a random affair for our team with a real mix bag of results.  The season started with a defeat to the ultimately relegated Sons Of CTI. Which was followed by a 1 goal win over bottom placed PushON.

Narrow victories / defeats pretty much summed up our season, as illustrated by our goal difference with our most bruising defeat being a 12-5 loss against Building Blocks.  We did though give 100% champions DFC all stars their most competitive matches with the difference over 2 legs being just 7 goals.

The most memorable game for us was our 12-11 game over Tecmark.  This match saw us quickly fall 4-0 behind before coming in at half time 8-3 down.  A second half rally saw us turnaround the deficit and pinch the points late on.  This match also sparked a 5 game winning run that saw us put in a good shout for 2nd place before ending the season with 3 defeats out of 4, though we ended on a high with our second 7-3 win over Code.

Looking to next season, we're delighted to see 4 new teams enter the league with the introduction of The Neighbourhood, SEO Next, Evolutia and Great Fridays.  With 4 new teams entering, the league will become a 2 tier affair with 6 teams in each.  Those 4 will join PushOn and CTI in the newly formed Creative League Two.

As for ourselves, we're looking forward to challenging the dominance of DFC as well as building on our 3rd place finish.  Defence was never really an issue with some sterling goalkeeping performances from myself.  Whilst we do have a goal machine in the form of Chris Alcroft, goals were an issue but with new signing Luke Scowcroft showing signs of form in the last few games, he promises to bag plenty more goals when he gets his first full season under his belt.

There is also another Creative Cup being held on May 28th but we're doing a "Utd" and pulling out due to prior commitments.

Also, I need to get my finger out and order our kit in time for next season:

Bring it on.
