It's Miller Time In Manchester

Miller has returned to the UK! And to push the boat out the beverage brand have created an online dashboard called 'Miller Time Tonight' which incorporates data from Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare. An example of this dashboard can be seen below. It helps you discover what is trending in your city, admittedly just the major cities, but also tells you what is going to be trending later that evening.

It currently has over 750,000 venues across 10 cities in England, Scotland and Ireland, although surprisingly London has yet to be included. It helps to find out the most popular events happening that night in your city, and also see what your plans of your friends might be. You can also pre-check into venues to show people where you will be going later. They are also releasing an iPhone and Android app so you will be able to plan your next step on your bar crawl! Another exciting tool is the random bar selector which can be seen below:

You get to choose your city, the location, and then what you are in the mood for.  With four choices to choose from: catch up with friends, big night out, live music or a late night bar you are sure to find something to match your needs. Although depending on how late you wanted a night, all the bars I scrolled through in the Northern Quarter closed at 12 a.m. on a weekday, which might not match everyone's definition of a 'late night bar'.

The only downside is that it is solely dependent on building up a network of people within your chosen city. Without people sharing their check-ins it will simply fail. However, this looks unlikely since they are doing a huge media push including TV, Billboards and Facebook. They are also using Facebook deals to accompany the campaign and to push traffic.
