For over a week now the UK’s weather has been causing havoc up and down the country. It’s funny how a bit of snow and the country comes to a standstill! The way the media report on “The UK’s Big Freeze” its doom and gloom for all concerned...except for the kids being off school!

However for online retailers this cold spell is music to their ears. People are avoiding breaking their neck on the high street and have turned to the internet to do their shopping.

Our ecommerce clients are recording record sales, and estimated sales figures show that £265m was spent on Mega Monday (29th November 2010), which meant 2,600 transactions could have taken place every minute!

The only glitch is that some deliveries were delayed! Royal Mail and many other couriers are reporting of a backlog, and due to the weather they can’t guarantee how long their services will be disrupted could only happen in the UK!

That a side it is definitely worth making sure your ecommerce sites are working hard at this time.
